Placing aluminium foil underneath the legs of heavy furniture that can't be moved will help protect them and your carpets.
You can also use plastic bags around the legs.

These guys are amazing!! Justin was our main contact that came out immediately once he got the call about my elderly mother's sewer back up in the downstairs level of her home. In a very short amount of time he had his technicians onofre and Giovanni on site doing amazing work. All those 5 star reviews?....based on our experience they are well deserved. After discovering a clogged roof drain caused a huge flood in our SOMA commercial building, I contacted F&WDR. They responded immediately, schedule an inspection, provided an estimate and completed the work efficiently and thoroughly. Justin's follow through was next level. We had water leaking in our house during the big storm in October. We were so glad we hired Fire and Water Damage Recovery! From the moment Justin first came onsite, we knew we were in good hands. He carefully evaluated the problem and calmly explained what we needed to do. The team assigned to do the remediation did an excellent job, carefully partitioning areas of the house with plastic, laying down paper to avoid scuffing the floors, and getting everything dry. The team leader, Edwin, patiently answered all our questions while taking lots of pictures to document for insurance. Justin and the back office were extremely responsive whenever we had a question. Highly recommend!

We had an emergency after a storm and everyone stopped taking calls from customers who needed help - just too busy and overwhelmed. FWD Recovery communicated quickly and professionally. They came out to access the damage to be done, and just as quickly gave us an estimate and a date when they could start the job. My stress quickly evaporated when I met the project manager who explained the problem and what needed to be done. This company is incredibly professional and understands customer service. If I could give them 10 stars I would do it!

Wow, these guys really got me out of a jam. I called them on a Sunday night after 8:00 p.m. and had somebody on site the next morning. Justin the site foreman had to navigate through a very tenuous situation with two very angry tenants. He displayed patience and poise the ability to problem solve and handle a highly stressful situation. The accommodated communication with multiple parties including conference calls with attorney so let's provide a better explanation of what was entailed with the remediation protocol. Quick and professional service. Justin came the day after we called him (1 day after our original water incident) and was able to start working the next day. Time is of the essence in water damage situations as mold can grow quickly under laminate floors. Oscar and his team who did the work were quick and efficient. Their price was very fair and they were patient with us on payment as we were waiting for our insurance company to reimburse us. Overall, great service that I would recommend in a heartbeat!
